In 1991, Mr. Rauch left Grumman and did contract work for Gulfstream America on Gulfstream‘s corporate jets IV and V, Lockheed on modifications to the C9, Raytheon on the P-3, and Northrop Grumman on modifications to the E–2C and V22 empennage, and with NASA on the high-speed civil transport (HSCT). 

He has also served as a designated engineering representative (DER) in the structural dynamics category for the FAA and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of New York (inactive).

He has served as a principal staff member for Veda Corporation and Mantech Inc.
