Manuel A Garcia

Manuel Antonio Garcia was born July 26th 1956 in La Vaga, Dominican Republic. He emigrated to the United States in 1967, at the age of 10. He graduated from Aviation HS and attended Queens College where he majored in fine arts and education. After graduating, he taught bilingual education for a couple of years in the NYC public school system, then went to work in the private sector. He is also the father of four fantastic young ladies and one great young man.

Manuel enjoys both painting and writing and has been doing both for more than 40 years. While he has participated in many art exhibits, he had not published any of his written work until this year (2025) when he presented his poetry book titled “Suturando Una Vida” at the Festival de Poesia en la Montana, in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.
