John Hanc

A veteran journalist, book writer, editor and educator, John Hanc is a long time contributing writer to Newsday, the New York Times and Smithsonian, as well as a former contributing writer for Runner’s World magazine. His award winning memoir The Coolest Race on Earth: Mud, Madmen, Glaciers and Grannies at the Antarctica Marathon (Chicago Review Press), chronicles his participation in 2005 edition of that race. Hanc, who teaches nonfiction writing at Fordham University, is also a publishing consultant: he has helped many independent authors shape their manuscripts and successfully publish their books.
