Geraldine O'Keeffe

Geri lives in New York. She is married to her beautiful husband Rich of 34 years and has a beautiful daughter who lives out of state. Geri is a postpartum doula, a birth photographer, a nanny, and has been a volunteer for the Postpartum Resource Center of New York since 2001. (For more information, please go to postpartumny.org).

Geri is an international author and published her first book, The Stork’s Revenge: My Struggles and Triumphs over Postpartum Depression in 2008 (Wyatt-Mackenzie, 2008).

Geri went through a perinatal mood disorder and published her book to help others. She hopes that this book does the same.
She is a photographer and has done birthdays, graduations, and surprise parties. Recently, she caught the comedy bug and has performed at taverns and at Governor’s Comedy Club. She loves being on stage, and performing brings a whole new dimension to her life.

While experiencing side effects, Geri dived right in and did anything she could to get back to some semblance of her life. Her days consisted of OT, PT, tests, MRIs, cardiologists, hematologists, eye specialists, etc. She thought nothing of taking walks in her neighborhood with her walker. She spent one hour every morning working on crossword puzzles, memorizing states and presidents, journaliing,, etc. (and still does now; four years later) .She was determined to recover and she did just that. Nothing could stop her.
