Katonya Trent
Katonya Trent is an author, premature birth advocate, and social impact speaker dedicated to raising awareness and offering hope to families affected by preterm birth. After experiencing a traumatic delivery at just 22 weeks and 6 days, Katonya’s perspective on life was forever changed. Her son’s survival inspired her to share her journey and create a platform that educates, uplifts, and empowers others facing similar challenges.
Her memoir, 22 And 6 Born on 11/26, chronicles her raw and emotional story of resilience, faith, and the extraordinary strength of motherhood. Written to bring encouragement to women and families navigating traumatic birth experiences, her memoir resonates deeply reminding readers to appreciate life’s smallest victories and recognize their inner strength during life’s hardest moments.
In addition to her writing, Katonya founded Konnected Thru 22, a community-based platform that provides a safe space for families of premature babies. Through storytelling, shared resources, and connection, she fosters hope and solidarity. She also hosts Instagram Live sessions, giving other preemie parents a platform to share their stories, and leads quarterly fundraising efforts to provide NICU families with care packages and essential supplies.
With every word, event, and initiative, Katonya’s mission is clear: to shine a light on the realities of prematurity, inspire resilience, and ensure that no family walks this journey alone.
