N.Y.C. resident Christine Piacente, using the pen name CP Wilson, was inspired to write Miss Centipede: A Bug’s Tale of Tolerance , after teaching many students from diverse backgrounds and incorporating her experience as the new student at many schools during her youth. She has worked as a teacher for over 25 years and has taught in the New York City Department of Education, the Mattituck- Cutchogue U.F.S.D., and the Southold U.F.S.D
