Billie Longo

Billie was born and raised on Long Island, NY. She attended Stony Brook University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and has plans to return to complete her Master’s.

As a child, Billie found joy in creating short stories in her free time and for school projects. It wasn’t until the end of middle school though where her focus took a shift towards poetry where she found her outlet to express herself through art. During her time in college (2017), she suddenly found herself living a nightmare that she couldn’t wake up from. She watched her brother fall into addiction and engage in reckless and dangerous behavior, putting herself and her family in harms way. At a time where Billie was unable to control what was happening in her life, she turned to the pen and paper to create her own narrative, bringing back the spark she once had for writing short stories as a child.

Billie submitted a short story called “Undiagnosed” for an assignment for her creative writing course, which reflected what was happening in her life. After praising feed back from her class such as “where did you come up with this?”, “what happens next?!”, and “I can’t believe this is true!”, along with her professor looking her in the eyes as he stated “if you were to ever write a book, I would be the first one to buy it”, gave Billie the motivation and confidence she was needing to create this experience into something more. Thus began her journey to publishing her debut novel “Charmingly Undiagnosed” in 2025.
