Amy Nicole

Amy Nicole is an author, journalist, and playwright. As an author she has published the children’s book, Buster’s Backpack Adventure, the memoir, Hello Sunshine: A caregiver’s unexpected journey of love and loss, and in January 2024 she released her second children’s book, An Apple a Day with Pegasus Publishers.

Amy has been an active journalist for the past 15 years writing for publications such as Patch.com and the Long Island Advance. In 2020 Amy founded the digital publication, The Human Interest Story and since its inception has become home to stories of people across Long Island and beyond who inspire, overcome adversity and speak from the heart.

In addition to writing books and her passion for journalism, Amy has spent her life involved with theatre and began performing as a child. In 1994 at the age of 16, Amy was accepted as a student of New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA) theatre program where she studied intensely under the mentorship of Circle Rep Theatre Company and founders, Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Lanford Wilson and Michael Warren Powell. Over time, she eventually gravitated her focus towards her passion as a playwright and working in production which included her role as production assistant, dramaturg and playbill editor for an Off-Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’ In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel in 2012.

In 2022, Amy premiered her first full-length play, Two Cents as staged readings in LA and NYC, and in December 2023 at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.  Coming up the summer of 2024 on the path to full-production,  Amy will be making her first trip to London to present a staged reading of Two Cents as part of the Camden Fringe Festival.
